Millard Seldin began doing business in Miami in the 1960s and was then drawn to Ocala. He purchased his first two horses at the Ocala Breeder’s Sale in 1978.
During the late 1970s and early 1980s, the land parcels that comprise Ocala Ranch were made available for purchase from the Drake family. Millard admired its beauty and envisioned land-planning the site in the future. Ocala Ranch is now positioned for a mixed-use master-planned community.
Originally purchasing the Ocala Ranch land with partners, the property is now 100% owned by Kent Circle Partners | Seldin Real Estate, Inc., of Scottsdale, AZ. January 2020, Millard passed away at the age of 93, never having seen his vision for Ocala Ranch come to fruition. His son, Scott, carries on the dream as the sole owner. The land is currently in the entitlement process for an active adult community including homes, up to 36 holes of golf, retail, commercial and medical services, and pedestrian trails. The Seldin family vision is to utilize the land properly while being sensitive to its natural beauty, and to complement the approvals of the State of Florida and Marion County with a project that will benefit the whole community. Today, working closely with local and national experts, municipalities and neighbors, the logically phased master-planned design is a thoughtful and shared effort.
